During the Covid pandemic, Audible has supported the Newark Working Kitchens group in providing meals for those in need. The Audible app which is available on smartphones and tablets has over million downloads on the Google Play Store. Audible provide a range of audiobooks, podcasts, interviews and theatrical performances.

There is a range of fiction and non-fiction audiobooks available for both children and adults including bestselling books, biographies and classic literature. The Harry Potter series written by J. Rowling and narrated by Stephen Fry has consistently featured on the Audible bestseller list since its release in The Whispersync feature allows users to switch seamlessley between reading and listening with Audible and Kindle.

A free trial is offered and Audible frequently provides users with discounts and deals. Audiobooks can also be purchased at full price without a membership. Audible Originals are exclusive audiobooks, podcasts, theatrical performances and interviews available to Audible Members. The collection continues to grow and covers a wide range of genres. Many of the Audible Originals are featured on the Audible homepage and many also appear in the Audible bestsellers list.

Although many of the Audible Originals are aimed at an older audience there are also some available for children. Each cover is distinctive and gives the listener an idea of the genre and tone for the audibook or podcast. For example, The Dinner Set Gang appears to be a crime drama, as indicated by the use of colour, bold font and the imagery of the obscured hand and the diamond, whilst the cover for Albion has a mystical fantasy atmosphere due to the lightning, dark colours and the castle.

The brief states that the designer should try and avoid these cliches for the chosen audibook or podcast and try something new to grab attention. I will research the typical features for artwork for my chosen genre so I know what to avoid and can create something new. The covers all stand out from each other as they are all so varied but some catch the eye more than others as they have bolder font and colours.

One of the locals Target Audience: Empty nesters on the hunt for content to learn something new. Genre: Language Learning Podcast Synopsis: A famous face talks travelling around the globe, and unpicks the secrets to picking up the lingo to help make you truly feel like one of the locals on your travels.

Exploring more than just key phrases, this podcast shares how you can keep your travels faux pas free and make some pals along the way.

This is the most open ended option to choose from as the designer must choose which celebrity is creating the podcast and also consider which areas of the world or cultures could feature on the cover. Empty nesters are usually aged between 40 and 60, making this a very broad audience.

Of the four options, this one appeals the least to me as I have little interest in travel or language which would make it difficult for me to come up with ideas. Out West Target Audience: without children, looking for fun, engaging content to listen to whilst multi-tasking. A world of crime and misfortune have always surrounded the old tales, but this podcast seeks to go beyond the legends and uncover some of the darkest crimes of the times.

This podcast would explore tales from the west of the United States during the 19th and early 20th century, which gives a very clear topic to research. This would give me the opportunity to find influence from artists from this time period. The target audience is quite specific which would make it easier to tailor the design to the audience. The Faraway Target Audience: year olds without kids, who are looking to escape. Working in a local store, they are always dreaming of far away adventures until a new visitor comes to town and those dreams start to become a reality.

Like the first option, this audiobook has quite a broad target audience. The synopsis could be interpreted in many different ways which means lots of ideas could be generated during the design process. As I am part of the target audience this could give me more insight when carrying out audience analysis. Every time she goes outside, she hears different noises coming from the shed and she starts to imagine what might be inside. The synopsis provides a clear idea of the story which would give me lots of direction during the design process.

The option I have chosen to explore is Out West as it gives me a target audience I have never worked with before. In my previous projects most my artist research is on modern artists but the topic for the podcast gives me the opportunity to explore artists from a different time period and culture and take me out of my comfort zone.

The primary audience for the podcast is year-olds without children who want to listen to something enjoyable whilst carrying out tasks. As Audible is available in over 16 countries, this increases the number of people the podcast could reach but also means the audience is more diverse. It is likely that most people in this group will have heard of Audible even if they have not used it before. For the podcast to appeal to people they will need to have an interest in US history or crime, be familiar with the narrator or want to learn something new.

If the cover stands out and intrigues people this will also attract more listeners. The secondary audience for the podcast could be adults that fall outside of the age range of the target audience but have an interest in crime, history or the American Frontier and want to learn more.

The niche audience could be students researching the American Frontier for history projects, existing Audible users who have enjoyed previous Audible Originals, or new users experiencing podcasts for the first time. If the visual identity I create stands out and intrigues my primary audience, it should also attract members of the secondary and niche audience.

Audible is one of the most well-known audiobook providers thanks to their frequent ad campaigns and connection to Amazon. Audible has a good reputation as an affordable and user-friendly service, with the Audible app having a 4.

This means people are likely to be interested in a podcast if they know it is an Audible Original as they have a good reputation. I enjoy looking at various projects other individuals have done and do my own to strengthen my skills and portfolio.

Branding For The Music Industry Explore the world of design for the music industry with this disruptive set of branding projects based around arts, music and culture. Using a portrait of your Target customer, you will be able to gauge how they think, feel and behave.

This, in turn, will help you make better design choices. Who is your direct competition? How are they positioning themselves in the market? What can you do to steal market share? When you delve deeper into their weaknesses, you learn how to cope with the market share threats that will help you better position yourself in the market.

Every project is different and will have different needs and requirements. Listing them in order of preference and execution will help bring clarity to the entire project. It is also important to include the specifics about the final file formats that they require to finish the project.

To be able to communicate your message across, you have to set the right tone. They should be in alignment with the overall mood of your project and the brand is perceived in the marketplace. The audience will pick up on the traits of the brand by sensing the tone from your designs. So ask the right questions about colors, imagery and how they would like the company to be represented.

Set down firm expectations on when you expect a deliverable to be completed. It helps you stay on track to complete your campaign. You also have to figure out how much your client is willing to spend before you start the project.
