Autocad plotter files
Jitesh Dange. Be sure that your printer or plotter is connected to your computer and is turned on. Start AutoCAD, and open the plan. Click the Plot tool from the Quick Access toolbar to open the Plot dialog box.
This tells AutoCAD to plot the drawing as it appears in the drawing window. You also have the option to plot the limits of the drawing or to select an area to plot with a window.
In addition, you can choose to plot the extents of a drawing or a saved view. Click the Preview button in the lower-left corner of the dialog box. AutoCAD works for a moment and then displays a sample view of how your drawing will appear when printed. Notice that the view also shows the Zoom Realtime cursor. Go ahead and plot the file: Right-click and choose Plot from the context menu.
AutoCAD sends the drawing to your printer. Your plotter or printer prints the plan to no particular scale.
Metric users should select Click Plot on the Quick Access toolbar again to open the Plot dialog box. Click the More Options button. As you can see, you have several choices for the scale of your output. In the Paper Size group, select Letter. You can drag these configuration options from one PC3 file to another.
You can start the Plotter Configuration Editor with any of the following methods:. Depending on your configured plotting device, additional options may be available on the Device and Document Settings tab. For example, when you configure a non-system plotter, you can modify the pen characteristics. The Plotter Configuration Editor has several tabs. By default, PC3 files are stored in the Plotters folder.
